Joanna is a versatile actress with a strong grounding in theatre. Born and raised in Wimbledon, her natural accent is soft neutral RP with the ability to go up or down, and she has a talent for character voices.

With a first class Languages degree from Cambridge University and a musical background, Joanna has an excellent ear and is a very skilled sight-reader. She plays the cello and sings professionally alongside teaching English and Elocution when not acting.

Her most recent theatre work includes Evelyn Nesbit in ‘Ragtime’ at the Charing Cross Theatre (for which she was a finalist for Best Supporting Actress in the Off West End Awards), Jane Smart in Craig Revel Horwood’s ‘Witches of Eastwick’ (The Watermill) and Mrs Kendal in ‘The Elephant Man’ at the Queen’s Theatre (Hornchurch).

Voice work entails dubbing and ADR, children’s education (Tom, Dick and Debbie productions) and documentary-style narration for ‘Living Paintings’.
